STC Solar Panel Rebate FAQs

Here are some of the frequently asked questions about STC Solar Panel Rebate.

If you still have any questions, please free to get in touch with one of our friendly team members today!

  • What is STC?

STC stands for Small-scale Technology certificates and calculated based on the output of your solar systems. The larger the system size, the greater the rebate savings.

  • How are STCs calculated?

STCs are calculated based on the size of your solar system (in kW), the location of your installation and the number of years remaining in the current deeming period (which ends in 2030).

For example, a 6.6kW solar system installed in Sydney will receive 54 STC’s. Similarly for a 13.2kw solar system installed in Sydney will receive 109 STC’s.

  • What is the value of an STC and how does it affect my rebate?

The value of each STC fluctuates based on supply and demand in the STC market but it typically ranges between $30 to $40 per certificate. Your total solar rebate is calculated by multiplying the number of STCs your system is eligible for by the current market price of an STC. For example, if your system generates 54 STCs and the market price is $40, your rebate would be approximately $2,160.

  • How long does a Solar Panel last?

A good quality solar panel like Max Power Solar Panels comes with warranty for 30 years for both product and performance.
